EverymanEveryman is a morality play written and performed during the late 15th century. It is an allegory, which means that a character named Everyman (who literally represented every man) goes on a pilgrimage. The question at the heart of this play is one about salvation. Everyman acquires friend/companions on his travels who each represent a specific concept. Ultimately, Everyman learns what it will mean to face God after death.

The 2nd shepherd's PlayThis is one of the English biblical plays popular during the Middle Ages said to have been written by "The Wakefield Master" whose identity remains unknown. It is of Christ's nativity, and scholars believe that these plays sought to popularize biblical tales through dramatization. Notice, however, that while it takes biblical inspiration, there is a fair amount of material that has no biblical source. Consider the function of anachronism (Christ has yet to be born at the play's start) and what types of social commentary the play might offer.
